Christmas parties

The first weekend in December was full of Christmas parties for us. On Saturday, we went downtown for the kids' party hosted by James' work. The boys had so much fun. The first thing they did when we got there was play games. Daniel really liked the remote control cars that were set up but he had a hard time getting a turn since there were a few bigger boys who didn't want to share. There was a little basketball hoop set up and both boys really liked that. There was also an arts and crafts table and a gingerbread man-decorating table.

After playing for a while, we had some lunch and watched the kids' talent show. Daniel actually wanted to go up on stage like the older kids! I walked up to the stage with him, not knowing what we would do when we got there, but he chickened out. He did get to pick some of the door prize tickets, though.

As you can see, there were Christmas cookies, which the boys quite enjoyed!

After lunch, there was a magic show. It was a perfect show for three year olds - Daniel was fascinated and loved the show. Adam wasn't too impressed, though, so I spent the time wandering around the hotel with him.

Then it was time for Santa to arrive. Adam didn't really notice him and Daniel was too busy doing puzzles to see Santa! But, just before Santa was going to leave, Daniel changed his mind and went to sit on Santa's knee. Adam still didn't want anything to do with him!

On Sunday, we went up to our community centre for breakfast with Santa. I think the boys were pretty tired, though, so it didn't really go that well. Adam cried the entire time he was on Santa's knee and Daniel wouldn't even go see him at all. He spent the whole time in my arms with his head hidden in my neck!

But they did have lots of fun listening and dancing to the music of Tony Prophet. He had cool wooden guitars that Daniel loved. What a rockstar!
