Science World

Daniel's birthday present from Mommy and Daddy was a trip to Science World to see the new dinosaur exhibit. We decided to take him on Sunday and both he and Adam had a great time. They loved everything about it. We arrived a little later than we had liked, so we went in and ate lunch right away. Then we went to discover everything there was to see.


On the first floor are all the brain puzzles and things. Daniel enjoyed trying them out but they were a bit too hard for him. Daddy, however, thought they were so cool and wouldn't leave until he figured a bunch of them out. There was a video game where you raced using computerized wheelchairs and the boys enjoyed racing Mommy. I think Daniel won.



All the really cool stuff was upstairs. First we went to the area where you can learn about garbage, recycling, pollution, etc. Then we went to the dinosaur exhibit. It was pretty cool and Daniel liked it, but it was a bit too "old" for him. There were only a few full dinosaur skeletons that looked like actual dinosaurs. The rest was just bones and fossils. But he seemed to think it was pretty cool.

Then we went to the Eureka room, where you can learn about water, air, light, sound, motion and machines (and, James' favourite, physics!). This was, by far, the best room. I think the boys (all three of them) could have stayed there all day. Daniel's favourite was the chute that you put plastic balls in and could launch them 15 feet into the air into a huge water contraption. The balls would travel down this water maze and, when they reached the bottom, you could gather them up and start again. Daniel LOVED this! Adam wanted to love it, but it was a bit too hard for him. It didn't stop him from trying, though.

Overall, it was a very fun day. We'll definitely have to take the boys back. We didn't see nearly everything. I think James was thrilled that the boys loved spending the day learning about science!
