On Saturday, we got our bikes and bike trailer out and went for a ride. It was one of the first time I'd been on my bike since before Daniel was born! The boys looked so cute in the trailer. Adam's helmet was much too big and I don't think he appreciated having to hold his heavy head up for so long. He fell asleep not long into the ride.
We rode down to the Fraser River where there is a little strip of beach. Daniel got to run through the sand and even wade a bit in the water. According to Daniel, the water was dlij, which is his word for cold. (You have to say dlij while shivering - Daniel-ese is a mixture of sign language and actual speaking.)

The afternoon was spent in the backyard doing some landscaping. James is going to build the boys a sandbox. He dug out an old planter in the back of our yard and is going to fill it with sand. Daniel had a great time digging in all the dirt. The boys got so dirty that they ended up having to eat dinner outside, so they didn't track mud all through the house.

Sunday was just as beautiful, but a bit cooler. We took the boys up to the playground and had a picnic. Daredevil Daniel tried to climb all the ladders by himself! Overall, we had a great weekend. It's not too often we can spend a whole weekend as a family just doing fun things. I'm sure it's the start of a very fun spring and summer!
