James was in Peru on Father's Day so we didn't have a chance to celebrate with him. Instead, we celebrated a week late. Better late than never! So the boys and I took him to the aquarium. The boys had never been to the aquarium before and James and I hadn't been in many years. It was fun! Of course, the boys loved it. Adam loves animals of any kind and Daniel has been quite intrigued with reptiles and sharks. They really enjoyed exploring everything. Favourites were the octopus and, of course, the sharks.
There was a fun children's area where there was a play animal hospital. The boys had a great time playing doctor to some sea lions.
Then we went outside and saw the dophin show. I think Adam loved the dolphins much more than the other sea creatures, while Daniel was more interested in the "scarier" creatures. :) There were three dolphins, Hana, Helen and Spinnaker, and they put on a great show. It was fun! We also saw the really cute sea otters. Adam loved watching them eat their lunches off of their tummies.
The boys had woken up really early that day so they were pretty tired by the time we finished lunch. So we kind of rushed through the rest of the aquarium. We went through the Amazon exhibit and the boys took quite a liking to a turtle there. It kept poking its head under the fence and tickling their toes! Both the boys ended up on their tummies so they could stare the turtle right in the eyes! We also saw the beluga whales for a few minutes but the boys were ready to go. We'll have to go again one day soon.
